More Than 1,000 Communities Apply for Google Fiber Test (NewsFactor)

NewsFactor - The deadline closed Friday on Google's invitation to participate in its experimental fiber network, which promises to deliver speeds of up to one gigabit per second in the community or communities it selects. The search giant said it received more than 1,100 submissions from communities across the United States, together with 194,000 responses from individuals.
