Today im going to talk about verb (be) in all its forms
اليوم سأتكلم عن فعل (be) (المعنى = يكون أو يوجد) بكل أشكاله
الفعل (be) هو واحد من الأفعال المساعدة (helping verb) في اللغة الانجليزية
أما أشكاله فهي موضحة بالصورة التالية

يأتي الفعل (be) على شكل am - is - are في المضارع و يتغير إلى was - were
في الماضي. أما في (past participle) فيكون على شكل been
been تستعمل مع perfect tenses
Example: He has been sleeping for two hours
أما تصريف الفعل (be) في صيغة المضارع مع الضمائر فيكون على هذا الشكل

Verb (be) is used with
يستعمل الفعل (be) عند الكلام عن:
1- ages (العمر)
Examples: Carlos is fifteen
The students are 13 years old
2- nationality words (الجنسية)
Examples: I'm Spanish
She's Turkish
They are Americans
3- jobs (الوظيفة)
Examples: Jim is a teacher
You are a student
They are workers
Jack was a typist
4- adjectives (الصفات)
Examples: You're right
I'm happy
It's easy
Tom was sad
The employees were angry
5-/ these/ those/ this / that (هذا - ذاك - هذه - تلك- هؤلاء - أولئك)
Examples: This is my bike
That was my teacher
These were my answers in the test
Those are your friends
6- questions (الأسئلة)
Examples: Is Jim here
Are you fifteen
Are they Americans
Is this your book
Is it difficult
7- colors (الألوان)
Examples: The board is green
Apples are red
The shirt was red before i washed it
هذه بعض إستعمالات الفعل (be) في الجمل عندما تكون (be) هي الفعل الأساسي في الجملة
و لا يتبعها فعل مباشرة فعل آخر و إلاّ عندها يصبح الفعل (be) فعل مساعد
Example: a- He is an actor
b- He is acting
بالجملة الأولى (a) جاء الفعل أساسي في الجملة لأنه لم يتبع بفعل آخر
أما في الجملة الثانية (b) جاء الفعل متبوعا بفعل آخر (acting) و لذلك يعتبر الفعل (be)
فعلا مساعدا و ليس فعلا أساسيا
أما إستعمالات الفعل (be) كفعل مساعد فتنحصر معظمها بأنه يساعد في تحديد صيغة الفعل الأساسي أي الفعل الذي يتبعه
صيغ الأفعال التي يُستعمل فيها الفعل (be):
1- Present progressive
Example: He is eating
2- Past progressive / continuous
Example: They were talking
3- present perfect progressive
Example: She has been studying for 5 hours
4- past perfect progressive
Example: I had been waiting for two hours
5- Future progressive
Example: This time next week I will be flying home
6- Future perfect progressive
In 2010 my sister will have been living in China for five years
